Gran Carro of Bolsena: Explore the Underwater Archaeological Area

The Gran Carro of Bolsena is one of the most fascinating and mysterious sites in Lake Bolsena. Located off the shores of Sant’Antonio, it preserves the remains of an ancient prehistoric lakeside settlement that has been the focus of important archaeological research for decades.

To promote and enhance this extraordinary cultural heritage, the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Province of Viterbo and Southern Etruria is organizing three special public opening days dedicated to the discovery of the Gran Carro Underwater Archaeological Area.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the site through different activities:

Guided scuba diving tours;
Snorkeling experiences;
Guided boat visits;
Archaeological insights and explanations provided by experts working on the site.

This is an unmissable opportunity for anyone interested in history, archaeology and the hidden treasures of Lake Bolsena.
