On Saturday, 12 September 2026, Bolsena War Cemetery will host the commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of the Liberation of the Lake Towns.
This now traditional event offers an important opportunity to remember a significant chapter in the history of the area and to pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the war.
The ceremony will begin at 10:45 am with participants gathering at the entrance to the War Cemetery.
At 11:00 am, the National Anthem of the United Kingdom will be played in honour of the fallen from Commonwealth countries, followed by a welcome address by Mario Urciuoli.
At 11:30 am, Holy Mass will be celebrated by the Sacramentine Fathers of Bolsena.
The commemoration will continue at 12:25 pm with a prayer for the fallen and all victims of war, and will conclude at 12:30 pm with the Italian National Anthem, in honour of all those who lost their lives in wartime.
An annual appointment that renews the importance of remembrance and its close connection with a shared commitment to peace.
